See the thing is it all depends on what you truly want. Go with your gut. Tattoos are not horrible and many people don't regret getting them while some do many actually put time and thought into getting a tattoo making sure its exactly what they want. When I turned 18 I got my first tattoo. It was an outling of two hearts overlapping each other and it symbolized the promise ring my boyfriend gave me this way if him and I were to break up it wouldn't be so bad because it wasn't his name.. Later on the same year I got my second tattoo. I drew it myself and gave the artist my drawing. It meant alot to me because it was something I drew. My third tattoo that i got last year when I turned 19 doesn't even look like a tattoo. I LOVE stars because they remind me of hopes and dreams so I got an outline 3 different colored tiny stars on my wrist that can be easilly covered up by a bracelet or watch. My 4th tattoo is my now fiance initials. (the same boyfriend from tattoo number 1) I told myself I'd never do that but when you have a real feelings about someone and know you won't regret it you do what your heart and mind tells you not what anyone else says. Now besides the tiny wrist tattoo, the rest are hidden on my back and they're all small. I have piercings too. My tragus (awesome piercing) and my tongue. Tongue rings can easilly be hidden. I hid it from my mother for 7 months by wearing a retainer. Ultimately it is up to you. Go with your gut. And if you choose to get a tattoo make sure it means something to you. I have had wonderful experiences with all my tattoos and love them. and you would never know I even have tattoos because all of mine are hidden.

I love piercings, so much fun, I miss mine.

If you want something extreme and out there, but not too crazy, an eyebrow or lip piercing.

Something low key, a navel piercing or some cartilage piercings in your ears.

If you want something subtle, go for the nose or tongue.

I would not suggest a tattoo just because you want a change. A tattoo should be meaningful and have symbolism for you.

Piercings are much more fun to play with.

If you want a tattoo think about what design would be meaningful for you and something you could live with forever (even if you want to remove it, it may not be gone completely black ink is easier to remove than color btw) When you find something you like don't get it right away think about your decision to make sure you want it (I thought of a cool design for a tat but decided to not get it im too fickle :) also i think the worst spot is the lower back (aka tramp stamp) get it anywhere but there and it will be more unique.

for piercings you could get a third one if you already have the normal one and one next to it and put the third in between the two so its a triangular shape (ie the stuntgirl from the grindhouse film deathproof) I got my nose and lip pierced I liked my nose piercing more but when I tried to change it, the hole closed! Make sure to get surgical steel or gold earring or stud I had problems healing with other metals. u can also look online for different tattoo styles or piercing ideas. good luck!

I've got the left nipple done. I don't like two and none on girls. And when you get one done...others seem to give it to much attention and leave out the other one. I also have my belly button pierced and looking for jewelry that is a little dangling mouse...for the tattoo of a kitty with a paw raised up to play with it. And a bat skeleton tat on the back of my neck. And the best is the tongue piercing...awesome. It doesn't hurt that bad and I got mine double pierced at the same time...they are fun.

If I were you, I wouldn't get a tattoo. Think about it. Your 75 years old, all wrinkly, with a tattoo. Doesn't look to pretty does it. But if you get a piercing you can always take it out.

As a young professional you have to think about tomorrow and the job market...if you MUST get something get in a discreet place. Belly button ring, small nose piercing is still acceptable....or tattoo's on you back or chest. thats just my opinion!

Well if you want a change, i would NOT get a tattoo, because you could easily CHANGE you mind and not want it any more.

How about belly button. Or nose. Or lip. I'm personally not a fan of facial piercings but maybe you would like one of those.

I think the piercing that looks like a mole either above your lips or below are hot! No matter what you do make sure you go to a certified place, spend the extra cash. and on another note, if this is what you want to do, don't let people talk you out of it just because they are to Chicken S%*t to do it themselves. Do it why your young and can just because you want to.

How about a hair cut, or perhaps a different color? This would be something that is not permanent but you can make a dramatic change. : ) Just make sure that you find a stylist that you are comfortable with...don't go to a cosmotology college for a dramatic change.

If you want a tattoo get one in your low back but no permanent, and if you want a piercing get one in your bellybutton or in your eyebrow

Get a tongue piercing or two. You can enjoy them, so can your boyfriend. You can hide them when you need to, but they are always with you.
