How do you dress like a gossip girl?

So for any of you who watch the (awesome) show, I really looove the way serena dresses, in that preppy chic grungy style. Where should I shop to get the look and how do I even start? lol I usually dress from american eagle and hollister how do you pair things to pull it off? 10 points for the best answer <3

This could have been written by me! I have the same question. I shop at those stores too and love the gossip girl style (of course to pull it of you have to have tons of confidence). Here's what I've found:

1. The gossip girl website has fashion video tips.

2. Try forever 21, alloy.com, wet seal, lulusfashionlounge.com, pinkicestore.com.

3. Macy's and Norstrom's have very cute Serena like clothing in their juniors departments and they have amazing sales all the time (every day).

4. For Serena's hair, curl you hair with hot irons.

5. Try to mix and match to make outfits out of the clothes you already have! It is easier than you think and it's super fun to just pile on the accessories and the colors.

6. Don't forget the jewelry! Serena usually wears long necklaces.

I can assure you that AE and Hollister are not ways to get Gossip Girl style. Start shopping at Bendels, Neimans, Urban Outfitters, Barney's, Saks, and Bloomingdales, that will give you a good start, but it's pricey. It really is the price you must pay though if you want to look like that, there isn't really a cheap way to do that, unless you try a thrift store possibly. First just try to start wearing bigger purses and slouchy boots, and also try to start pairing vests and long necklaces with things more often and work your way up.

I agree, although these girls dress preppy sometimes it is not a holster ae preppy...it's preppy sheik. I would say urban outfitters, Anthropologie, nieman marcus, and even places like banana republic for the more staple/classic pieces. Keep in mind these girls are BIG into sheik accessories like scarfs and headbands especially for Serena. Good luck my fashonista!

You know the Waldorf colletction that you see on the show? Its actually designed by a realy designer named Abigail Lorick. She has a laber called Lorick New York, and I think you can actually buy her apparel in stores now.

For your make up try to make it natural. out mascara on. and a glitter eye shadow. but not glitter that u can tell. (not alot) PAint your nails often.... like a pink, red, orange, and green those colors are not that common.....
