I'm applying for several jobs that are lab researched based. I was wondering what I would wear to an interview. Is a suit too much? I've read online about dressing one notch higher than the what you see at the work place, but seriously, I see people dressed in flip-flops, polos, and shorts in the labs that I have previously worked at so wearing a suit would be a few notches higher. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

For an interview it never hurts to over dress. It is probably expected for you to dress up and may even offend some people if you do not, but it is less likely they would hold dressing up against you, at the least it shows you care about the interview and the position.

wear a skirt and a blouse with heals rather and you will come across as the serius type. Also be assertive and have a confidence but not overly so. have a black skirt cream blouse and a pink belt for around your middle or wear a pink dress with a black belt around the middle.

just wear a suit to be on the safe side, especially since you are going for a professional job. maybe a gray colored suit.

If you have a suit i say go for it. I would say, no trainers and if you wear jeans then make sure they are smart ones.
