Question:
How can I make a beaver skin hat stiffer?

I purchased an extra tall top hat for Halloween (I'm going as Abe Lincoln). Its great quality. The only issue is that its made of 'beaver silk' and isn't stiff enough to hold its shape. Any ideas on how to make it stiffer?
Thanks!

stuff it with newspaper or paper towel before putting it on.

Curl some cardboard round the inside and sellotape it in place. That should hold it up high!

My thought would be wooden dowels, if you place the dowels the length of the cap and then tape them to the inside it should hold its shape.
