Question:
I need your help!!!!?
2008-12-01 09:17:38 UTC
I'm 15 and haven't got a clue about fashion-at all. I just wear huge hoodies and big baggy jeans. It's got to change!!
Can you tell me some nice outfits that I can wear while going shopping, hanging around with my friends etc.

Tell me what I should wear please! I'm not overweight, but I'm not really skinny either.

I'm in the UK. Thanks!

Wear the clothes that you like, i spend half my life in baggy jeans and

hoodies. =]

If you want to go and follow a trend then you need to pick one that suits your personality, but if you want to be you, just take a walk through your locahigh streetet and buy yourself the clothes you like the look of, take some of your friends with you and have a girly shopping day that way you can be happy with what you've bought and have your friends thoughts on them too.

hope this helps =]

The first step would be to find a look that you want to portray such as "punk", "preppy" "retro" etc etc. There are a million and one looks so if you can't decide now just go shopping and find some things you look that look good on you. Go from there.

Also, remember to be yourself. Don't let anyone create your style for you or tell you what to wear. If someone here gives you an outfit made on Polyvore or gives you a link to clothes that you"have to wear", just know that that's their opinion. That's what they think would look cute and that's what they think is fashionable. However they don't know you or what you look like. Clothes are an extension of yourself and are often the first thing a person can judge you by.

Good luck with your new look. Consider getting some close friends that you trust to help you.

from what you currently wear i am going to assume you are a pretty casual person. some clothes that are comfy and stylish and tend to run low on the price are leggings. which are both warm and close fit. babydoll shirts. these tend to be girly but i find them quite comfy. iz byer and candies are both great brands with a great selection of clothing. sweat pants can be cool if they are a light color and they have a great shirt with them. and they CANNOT be baggy sweat pants they have to be fitted.

another look that is in where i am is dark (preferably black) fitted jackets. I don't recommend baggy baggy shirts but i also don't recommend skin tight shirts. and don't have a ton of the same type of shirt in different colors. try to change it up. oh and on the pants thing it depends on if you want to enhance anything like your hips or thighs or what not. and different types look different

a straight or boot-cut leg. A straight leg falls straight from the hip to the hem; a boot cut flares slightly (to give jeans room to fit over boots). Both cuts are slimming and make you look taller and leaner. Avoid tapered legs, as they give an unbalanced silhouette and make hips and rear end look big.

Pick big pockets. The smaller the pockets, the larger your derriere will look. Choose jeans with pockets that nearly fill the space between the rise (the length of jean between your crotch and waistband) and the edges of your rear.

Stick to a dark wash. Dark denim jeans always look polished and are most flattering.

Try a low waist. In the past few years, waistbands have steadily lowered. While an ultra-low waist is better left to teenagers, jeans labeled "low waist" are actually flattering to women of all shapes and ages. Avoid jeans that come all the way up to your waist, as they make your lower half look pear-shaped.

Add some stretch. Jeans with a touch of Lycra or spandex are flattering because they hug your curves, and they're comfortable because they move with your body (instead of pulling or tugging).

but all in all if you don't feel comfortable in it DON"T WEAR IT

and you should take a friend or sibling or mom with you so you can have a second opinion on how things look

well the UK is full of fashion. look around you, on the street, billboards etc...if you see some one wearing an outfit that you like take a mental note of how they're put together and what theyre wearing.

(since im not from the UK i dont know where you could shop) but i have a friend from London who knows the topshop owners...and when i went to London i had to go to topshop they have the cutest things!

as for sweatshirts...i NEVER wear them in public..they look sloppy and like you dont care what you look like. if youre attached to sweat-shirts, buy fitted hoodies or zip-ups. baggy jeans NEVER work with a baggy top. wear something more fitted on top if your jeans are big...and if you wear a bigger or flowy top wear tighter jeans.

good luck!

Picking up the layered style is easy if you are a young teenager. You can create this sweet look with just a few cute pieces. The best part about this look is that it is affordable as the shoes can be purchased at Payless Shoes Source and the other pieces can be picked up at Walmart or Target.

Put on the sheer black knee highs and the underwear.

Put on the blue lowrider jeans. Fold the cuffs up less than one inch.

Put on the black shortsleeved tee shirt with sparkly silver designs on it.

Put on the baby blue velour jacket that says “New York” across the front.

Pull the black tee down so that it is lower than the blue velour jacket and looks layered under the blue velour jacket.

Put on the black leather ballet flats with satin grosgrain bows.

Put the diamond ring on.

Use a light green elastic hairband to pull your hair up into a twisted bun look.

Now you are ready to go out on your first date and kiss a real boy this time.

Good Luck :)

In the uk the fashionable things are...military jackets, tartan, checks, ankle boots, ruffles, knit dresses, stripes and stars, the colour red, floral dresses, big bags. And as for finding out what to wear go shopping and have a look at the manequins in the window or buy a few magazines and see what the fashion pages say =].

First you have to decide what parts of your personality you would like to show off with your style, then the best way is to just google image search that and see what everyone else is wearing.

If you dont even have the faintest idea then go for fitted jeans, and a top that shows off your best attributes, for example if you are large chested go for reasonably low cut (not too low tho, dont want to spoil all the suprises) and try in places like topshop and H&M, pretty much anything from there is generally fairly good.

hey, i used to took some fashion and costume design classes in college

so here is my advice,

first figure out what shape you honestly are, then find women online who look like you and you like how they are dressing and figure out thing things that you like about it and emulate those.

make sure that things fit you right at the shoulder (the shoulder seem should hit right on the boney part of the shoulder) the arm ( raise your arm so it is parallel with your shoulder and bend your elbow 90 degrees, the sleeve should not come past the bone in your wrist ) and in the waist (your waist is where your navel is, not your hips. shirts and jackets should not have more than three to four inches extra material if you where to pinch it tight to your waist)

most of what makes a good wardrobe are a large amount of basic items that will flatter your profile. (sort of like a football game, you win by having the basics down) so have different colors, stay way from patterns that go in and out of stile.

also remember that fashion is dictated with very narrow viewpoint, almost any store in a mall is going to have variations of exactly the same things, and are designed for a specific body type, that if you don't have you are going to have to work extra hard to find things that flatter you. i would suggest doing research and then going to a nicer second hand store.

try wearing jeans that arent so baggy, nice fitting ones that are boot cut or a bit flared. Wear tops that are fitted and have a lower neckline. If your concerned about xtra weight in the stomach, wear shirts that have an empire waist. Wear accessories that will individualize you. Pick out clothes that you are comfortable wearing and feel pretty in.

Take a look online and mix what you like into it. Always consider hair color and the color of your skin tone and eyes. Make your own style with what they suggest! It's fun to try new things and your a brave girl to decide to make a change. Good luck and remember that it's the person under the clothes that people want to know not the clothes. The clothes are just the wrapping to a great person underneath!

Try getting a fashion makeover... Well anyways when your trying to change yourself you have to remember that the old you is gone and the new you is somewhere inside yourself but, you need to find the fashion sense inside yourself. These are the shops you might want to try shopping at: Primark, Hypnotic, Next, Zara, Gap, Claires and also New Arrivals.

I hope I can help,

Try wearing some dark skinny jeans with some boots and stick the jeans into your boots. Also, try wearing a plain colored tee with a cute vest from Wet Seal. Then top it off with a necklace, bracelet and a purse.

throw away those baggy jeans and hoodies girl, its time for a change :)

I advise you go into shops like New look, Primark, Peacocks and Mk one...they have lots of nice clothes for you age and at a reasonable price. (Primark is the cheapest)

Lots of nice simple tops can be glam up by just adding accessories, so try out different looks by mixing and match...but keep it simple and don't over accessorise.

i think you should get cute little dresses, if you not comfortable with showing off you're body, wear a cardigan over the dress or out skinny jeans underneath it!

Buy some graphic tee's to wear on days when you going to hang with friends.

Fashion is fun and something where you get to choose you're style... If you see something you like, get it and have fun!
2008-12-01 17:24:25 UTC
i think a pair of shorts would look good with some coloured pattened tights like mustard or dark pinks. You could were them with ancle boots and leg warmers then a short cut black jacket. My favourite thing to wear is a pair of high knee sox with shorts and a warm jacket. This would look good because its winter :) but stil stylish. If you were this outfit, were trainers or converse.

just wear whatever you feel comfortable but sometimes its too bad to do that because you HAVE to dress according to the situation.

if you have to go for a party:

dress up really cool, wearing skinny jeans and tight tops, and apply a lot of makeup with loads of accessories but it should be matching like the color.

then if you want to go anywhere like shopping,

be casual, wear whatever you feel like.

just tell me the situation and i will tell you what to wear....

~hope i helped....

why does it have to change ?

don't fall into the same trap that every other teen falls victim to.

be who you are and where what makes you feel comfortable.

clothes will never change who you are and what you believe so

before you fall into the trap of living life for what others think instead of yourself, think about whether you make choices for yourself or for pleasing others. not simply clothing but in everything you do in life : )

just be you : )

Look through some fashion magazines or go to clothing store websites. Or magazine websites. Whats hot for your age where you live? Just look through popular magazines, and look at what people wear to school/in public.
