Okay you really dont have to match your bikini bottoms and tops its your own personal style and comfort that matters..but on the other hand if you dont want to look a fool then here are the rules:
1.you should never, ever mix two different patterns for your bikini..ex.never have a leopard print top and a striped print bottom...it clashes the style
2.If you do want to go with 2 different pieces than your bottom should always be solid[no prints]and top should either be solid or printed..but your bottom should never be printed unless your top is printed[same prints of course] because it makes your bottom look wider and your body to look unshaped or untoned.
3.Like most people you want to walk down the boardwalk or around in nothing but your bikini..your body should never look completely naked when walking around[if ur not in the pool] you should either cover your top half with a cover-up or cover your bottom half with a pair of shorts or mini skirt

I think it would look a bit silly to mix two different prints. If you're going to do prints stick with one pink polka dotted bottom and matching pink polka dotted top. Or, you could do pink polka dotted bottom and solid pink top ( and vice versa.) You may need to stay within two shades of the solid colored bottom .

There are no rules for matching swimwear. Celeb's mx n match all the time. Polka dots and stripes can totally go! So can leapard and zebra, etc. Express your mood and personality through your clothes and have fun!

stripes, pollka dot-ok
leapard print and zebra- no
camouflage print and white- no
pink and black flowers-i have no idea what that means
they do have to mach somewhat like the stripes and polka dots should be the same color
solid colors just have to go together

just try and see what looks aesthetically pleasing! (pleasing to the eye.
2 different prints generally look GROSS together! and like youve got into them in the dark.
if youre wearing one part plain and one part in print - make sure that the part in solid colour matches with a colour in the print, preferably the main colour.
as for solid colours, if your mixing, a safe bet is keeping one part black, as black goes with anything.
look up bikinias for body shape on google,
the shape is very important.

If anything, you can have a white top with blue and have a blue bottom. As long as they match with the littleist bit of colour thats good. If not, dark bottoms look good with light tops. White and Black match with everything. Good luck!
Remember that there are no rules and those are just tips.

i personally hate it when people put on two different prints. either have a print on the bottom with a matching solid or vise versa, i think the top and bottom should match in at least one way, be it color or pattern. if not to me it looks too random
hope it helps =]

There aren't any rules for matching swim suits. Just mix and match whatever you want too.

Don't think about "rules"
Mix and match, people look better when there not worrying about how they look. You'll stand out more, if you mix and match!!

never put two prints together
solid colors should be in the same color family
they dont necessarily have to match but they have to coordinate
