"Kitty" is a small amount or savings which a woman would do out of daily / monthly expenses budget. This savings she spends in merry-making, fun and eating out with her friends (ladies). This gathering of ladies or the party is called as kitty party. This kitty party is generally organized at some hotel or at someone's house or some club. Many a times it is a theme based party. Females gather and have chat, food, do gossip, talk on their kids, husbands, mother-in-laws, maid-servant, and gossip about their neighbours... and show-off their clothes, makeup and jewellery....

i believe "kitty party" is another term for an exclusive all-girl's party; whether they are single/married. it's a way for women to "un-wind" from a stressful week, or to update on each other's lives. its' not really that necessary to wear catsuits. its a term of endearment compared to a "chick" or "girl power". and it doesn't really require a lavish gathering. so long as all members of your sorority/ peers/ association(and the like)are there, coz it's the presence that really matters.just don't forget to serve tea or any type of beverage-and i'm not talking about hard liquors here, hehehe.(you guys might all end up dehydrated from your talk-marathon, worse if you all get hypoglycemic).. goodluck!
