Question:
I need help with prom!?

My senior prom is coming up fairly soon and I need help with several things!

I ordered two dresses online- the reason I ordered two is because I am unable to try them online, therefore I wanted one as a back-up. (For both dresses, it was only $150! What a steal!)

First one: http://www.renttherunway.com/shop/designers/nicolemiller_dresses/keyholegoddessgown?login=true
Second one: http://www.renttherunway.com/shop/designers/badgleymischka_dresses/fayechiffongown

Since the dresses are obviously two different colors, I was hoping to get one pair of shoes that would work for either dress. I was thinking a nude/champagne heel would work well, but I'm unsure. What suggestions would you have for shoes?
(I don't want to spend a lot of money on the shoes since I am paying for this all myself, so if you have any suggestions as to where I can purchase some cheap heels that would be awesome!)

Also, I was planning on getting my hair done like this: http://pics.boards.weddingbee.com/94923.Hair_Eva1.jpg.resize
Just a basic loose, curly low bun.
Do you think this would look good with either dress?
If not, what would you suggest?

And lastly, I need suggestions for makeup.
I am absolutely clueless when it comes to makeup, so as much help as you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Here is what I look like, if this makes any difference.

I like to stay away from dark lips because they always look so bad on me :P So I would rather go with the focus on my eyes with a nude colored lipstick.

Thank you!! :)

Hi! I love your taste the dresses are so pretty! I would wear either one of those! I would go with a champagne colored heel. Or if you want to go a little fancie, maybe a silver heel with crystals would go well especially if your wearing crystal jewelry. For your hair, I like the curly loose messy bun I couldn't come up with anything better! Maybe you could also add a clip near the bun, like a big champagne colored flower maybe with sequins?

Something like this: http://www.google.com/search?q=big+flower+clips+for+hair&hl=en&client=safari&tbo=d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&ei=jBVdT6T9I-Hv0gGf27S_Dw&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=768&bih=928

As for you makeup, I would do a smokey eye for the first dress with a nude lip and light blush. Look up tutorials for the smokey eye, preferably with grays blacks and whites.m

For the second dress you could do a smokey eye with a mixture of browns or a brown wing tipped eyeliner, gold eyeshadow

Hope I helped

I love the first dress :) I think a silvery shoe would work well with both, definitely not nude. Try a matching clutch! That way, it will look really put together. Payless is magic for cheap shoes! The hair will look great, but if you want to save money, here is how you can do it yourself:

Hair must be dry. Take a 1-inch section and clip it out of the way. Brush the rest of your hair into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic. Now, twist the hair into a bun and secure with a few bobby pins. Separate the inch you clipped out of the way into four sections. Pin the first piece to the side between the ear and the crown, then pin each piece further down than the one before it. It is okay if some pieces of hair come out. Now, just hairspray it!

For makeup, try a sweet, natural look. Blend a luminous foundation onto your face.Place a coral-pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. For eyes, create a simple smoky eye that will look gorgeous! Sweep a really pale pink from lash line to brow. Take a light brown and place it just on the lids, and then put a taupe in the crease. Use false eyelashes (if you can't do them, like me, use the Japonesque Lash Placement Kit. It only costs $10 and it can be found in most drugstores), and cover the line of placement with a gel eyeliner in either black or brown. Make sure to blend your eyeshadow! For lips, try a creamy nude lipstick that is not shiny or sparkly. Have fun! You are so pretty :)

i've been planning prom stuff recently too~ i think it's really fun!

so~

white pumps(i think especially), or silver strappy heels would look good with both dresses. nude(also very good)/champagne would also look nice. they are brighter neutals, so they go with a lot (and you can rewear them after prom) and are bright like your dresses/fit the season well.

i recommend payless or dsw for shoes. both are pretty cheap and have a good selection.

option 1: pink dress~ i think is way more pretty and romantic. i like the sparkle, and the shape better. i personally would be worried about the top slipping down, but thats me. if you are regular pale by prom, which you seem to not be, light pink could be hard to pull off. also, the sweetness of the dress i think suits the gentle curly updo more ooo and with some dangly light silver (or gold- but stick to one color family) earrings/jewelry. soooooo pretty !! but this dress could be worn with hair up or down in curls.

option 2: orange dress~ i think this dress is more fun than the other one. it is chiffon, so much lighter, smaller skirt, and bolder color. you need to decide if you want more fun, or more sweet for your dress. i think i like the first one better, but this one is still very cute. my main thing is that it isn't as interesting and original as the other one~ no sparkler, simpler shape, fabric and neckline than the first one. maybe if it had a sparkly belt or something. but if you wear this dress, the hair still could work, as you definitely need something interesting. like a little higher, so its a little more fun, but ask a hair stylist what they think. maybe with a cool headband or something? if you wear it down, it might be too casual. you would definitely need some statement jewelry with this dress, big earrings/necklace and a bracelet. not sure exactly what color, cause its a hard color to coordinate with. probably silver would be best. find a realllllllly cool necklace /pair of earrings and id like it a lot more. and being tan, but not the color of the dress tan would be good.

either color i think would look good on you. maybe the orange even better, but im not sure. you will definitely need to see which shape is more flattering on when you get it, because a lot of dresses look different on hangers/on models.

for makeup~ light pink gloss would be great with either dress. then foundation/coverup/light blush. for the pink dress, you can wear some eyeliner, but dont go all out, cause you don't want it too look to harsh . mascara, then light pink? eyeshadow would complete it. paint your nails either a french manicure, or whatever color shoes/jewelry you have. remember, don't mix silver and gold. for the orange dress, same lipgloss/skin, more eyeliner would be ok for this one, and a brighter eyeshadow. with your blue/green eyes, maybe a darker purple? don't go with dark lips for either, i agree.

definitely try everything on all together to get a better idea. i thiiiiiiink i like the pink better, and its a little more formal, but i do really like the orange as well. anyway, i hope this huge answer helps. good luck with everything, and i hope you have an amazing prom!! :)

So first off, both dresses are pretty:) I like the red ones shape better though. Nude heels are great! Look on gojane.com to start. Cheap, pretty good quality heels.

My problem is neither shade of dress goes that well with your skin...:/ so I'm not sure what to tell you there. I guess just make sure for makeup that you wear blush and make sure to highlight your eyes to make them pop so you're not washed out:) I think how you do your makeup in those pics is good, just accentuate your eyes a bit more, plain black is to harsh.

As for that hair style, it's really cute. I did something similar to one of my proms, but sinc you have a narrow chin, you should try parting your hair off to the side, not in the center so much like the model in the photo. Just even a bit off to the side will work, otherwise it'll be unflattering to your facial features and shape.

Here's a shoe with a little detail to it: http://www.gojane.com/69462-shoes-studded-bow-heel.html

love the 1st dress but in not nude then silver but as for make up keep it natural tones because the thick smokey eye wont really work w/ either dress to me. lipstick matches dress.
