pierced my ear on top,but now there is bump!what do i do?

i have got my ear pierced on top and now it has got a bump!
its been say like 2months since i have got that done.however there is no sign of infection but yet the bump pains when i press it hard or even when i sleep on that side!
do you think its infected?
what should i do please to ease that bump??

You need to make sure the ear ring is bigger than normal, so the skin isn't tight around it. It takes months for a piercing to properly heal so keep the ring/stud over sized until then.



Sometimes dirt can get trapped in piercings. Put some boiling water into a bowl with salt and mix. Get a q-tip or some cotton wall, dip it in the solution and when still hot(but not so u burn yourself!) place it against the bump to drain anything out. Keep it there until the cotton cools down, then repeat.

If this doesn't work im sure its nothing to worry about, Altot of piercings have this and its just your body getting used to a foreign object. Like i said already it will take months for it to properly heal even without an infection.

normally when you get your cartlige pierced it will heal fine, but sometimes it can heal weird. a bump is compltely normal though, i promise. i have 3 cartlige pierceings and they all formed a bump during the healing process.



what i did was wait at least 3 months, and then take out the starter stud and put in a hoop earring, the ones with the screw-on ball works well, or something with out a back, so the bump can go down and not form around a backing, which is really gross, btw..



try that and see what happens. the bump will most likely go away, its just part of the healing pocess..

make sure to clean with the stuff they gave you or peroxide

you are cleaning your hands before you touch it right? Hydrogen peroxide works to disinfect it and hopefully the swelling goes down. But to be sure, since it has been that long since you got it done, i would go to a doctor. It may already be infected and you need to take care of it right away. hope this helps!

I have that, I'm afraid it won't go away. Was the piercing done with a gun by any chance? Its scar tissue that has built up where the earring went through.
