Hey guys, yesterday (December 27th!) I got my ears pierced at Claires. I got the 14karat white gold CZ studs and my little sister got the 14karat white gold pink ice CZ birthstone stud. We both got a bottle of the ear cleaning antiseptic, and everything is fine when we clean our ears - no puss, no bleeding, nothing hurts. But my mom read that we were also supposed to twist/rotate them about twice a day. My sister rotates hers no problem, and my right ear is okay, but my left ear really hurts! Is that normal, or might it be infected? :( Like I said, no puss, no blood, nothing hurts, EXCEPT for my left ear when I rotate the earring. Also, are we allowed to go swimming? And we also are in dance, it's pretty serious, and every year in June we're both in at least two shows. You're not allowed to wear ANY earrings in the shows, but the lady said we need to have some kind of post earring in at all times for a year. Can we take them out for just maybe, two days out of the whole year? Thanks so much! Hope y'all had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year! <3

Bodies dont like peircings, it will hurt. keep taking good care of it and it should go away. If it lasts too long you might want to go to the doctor to find out if you are allergic to gold maybe. As far asswimming goes, 6 months is usually good. Make sure to clean your ears the second you get out. I am a dancer as well, i know your pain. You can not take the piercings out, but you can go get clear fishing wire or clear plastic thread, take your earring out and insert the thread, loop it down and tie a knot. if that wont work, look for clear earrings, they have them, you may just have to look online.

I always have this problem when I get new piercings and all you really have to do it keep cleaning them. I used to take rubbing alcohol and wipe my earring off with it once in the morning and once in the after noon. Then, you just have to keep twisting it so it doesn't stick together and wait until it heals. I promise it'll be fine it there's no puss or blood.
